The "Centro di Documentazione 'Nicola Grosa'" in Lanzo Torinese is a significant archive and documentation center dedicated to the history of the 20th century, with a special focus on resistance and the Resistenza. It was established in 1985 on the initiative of historian Ines Poggetto and named after Nicola Grosa, an outstanding figure of the Piedmontese resistance.
The center collects and preserves archival materials and publications related to contemporary history, particularly focusing on the Second World War and the Resistenza in the Valli di Lanzo. It promotes studies, publications, exhibitions, and educational initiatives to preserve the historical heritage and make it accessible to the public.
The collection includes a variety of documents, such as newspapers, magazines, leaflets, and photographs from the time of resistance. Particularly noteworthy is the extensive collection of 80 magazines and 34 newspapers, providing a unique insight into the media landscape of that time.
The center is housed in a historic building spread over three floors. The first floor features an extensive library with books, newspapers, and magazines available for research purposes. The second floor hosts a conference room used for events, lectures, and exhibitions. The third floor houses the so-called "Operative Room," where documents are stored in a rich archive organized in folders by theme.
